Because it’s not rape if she can’t say no – or if no one cares

Ah, Spring Break!  A time of fun in the sun.  Tanning.  Swimming.  Drinking.  Raping unconscious women on the beach while no one can be bothered to stop you or even call the police.

Wait, what?

Yeah.  That.

Apparently last month in Panama City, a woman was raped on the beach.

In public.

On video.

In fact, in the video, there are other women – and men – all standing around, talking and having a good time while at least two men rape an unconscious (potentially drugged) woman.

The county sheriff made the statement that, “Within ten feet of where this happened there’s hundreds, hundreds of people standing there, watching, looking, seeing, hearing what’s going, and yet our culture and our society and our young people have got to the point where obviously this is acceptable.  This is happening in broad daylight with hundreds of people seeing and hearing what is happening and they are more concerned about spilling their beer than somebody being raped.”

People.  It’s not hard.  If you see someone sexually assaulting someone, you stop them.  If you are afraid to stop them because of your own safety, then call the police.

I don’t care if you’re male.  I don’t care if you’re female.

  1. Hi!

Im a guy but I take women's rights very seriously and I actively support it, just thought I would give the other side a voice in a way. Don't get me wrong though I am not siding with the rapist because rape is one of the worst crimes that can be committed, what I am saying is that since the girl was too drunk to say 'no' the crowd of onlookers probably just thought that they were having normal sex because she wasn't able to signify that she was being raped. Some advice that I could recommend is to watch how much you drink and try and stay with a friend as the old saying is "safety in numbers".

Thank you for reading and I wish you well.
